Maya Rose Weiss, the founder and creator of Yaya and Jewelry, seeks to expose the reverence and mystery embedded in hand-made, intuitive forms.  She explores the interconnection of jewelry and basket weaving as a way to localize this unique intersection of history, craft and lineage.  Each piece evolves, to reflect her ever continuing captivation with both creativity and the natural world.  The soft, pliable fibers demand attention, receptivity, and adaptability.  Lightweight and idiosyncratic pieces provide a connection to both tradition and innovation.  She is always striving to ground her work in both gratitude and reciprocity.  Originally from New York, she now resides in Boulder, Colorado, and finds great inspiration from the landscape.
