Brooch in  Stainless steel, TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane, 3d printed), cubic zirconia

This piece used techniques developed during the pandemic. The body of the amphora was modeled and then run through a simulation to create the layout for stone setting. 

Artist Statement:

Ben Dory is a jeweler specializing in stainless steel granulation, broadly focusing on technological interpretations of traditional studio practices. Originally from Kansas City, Ben Dory graduated with an MFA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2014. After recently completing a 3-year residency as the Artist-in-Residence in Metals at the University of Arkansas Little Rock, Ben now works from his studio in Savannah, GA.
